Late on Friday, Dec 30:
There hasn't been time for a blog. The pictures must say it.
Here we are at the Funchais snack-bar for brunch on Christmas Eve.
The snack-bar makes the best sandwiches in town. Fresh bread comes all of 50 metres from bakery around the corner.
Christmas day we enjoyed by ourselves.
We celebrated it with a walk along the promenade from Quarteira beach to Vilamoura. (The year end marks Ono's - centre - 17th birthday)
Gifts came from kindly neighbours.
Midweek Barbara flew to London to celebrate New Year with family and old friends. Happily for her, strikes at Portuguese airports by both baggage handlers and security staff were called off at the last moment. There's nothing like a walk in the park.
This is Llewellyn's clever stitched pic of the Albert Hall
where they attended a concert. (Barbara's home on Sunday night.)
Back at the ranch, the animals have needed tending.
A juicy cushion for dessert!
And so 2017 looms. The animals and I will celebrate it at home, huddled around the fire, with the music turned up to dull the explosive celebrations. (They freak the dogs). Let us all hope that we have reason to celebrate what lies ahead. Happy New Year!
